T & I Sealed Units Ltd was originally started in 1978. At that time the company was known as Thorpe and Ingley Glass and window Company. The company made aluminium windows and sealed units. It bought in its pvcu and wooden windows. Over the years the company moved more and more towards making sealed units for the trade and some 6 years ago the directors decided to stop fitting windows and to specialize in the manufacture of top quality sealed units. A period of rapid expansion started which has seen the company move twice and increase its number of employees to around 18. A quality system was installed and in January 2002 the company was awarded The British Standards Kitemark for BS5713. Our licence number is KM60296 and covers all of the products that we make including Leads Stains and Georgian units. T & I have know successfully tested to the new European standard BS EN 1279 part 2 and in May 2006 will be submitting gas filled units to obtain BS EN 1279 part 3.

T & I are very proud of the fact that when Part L of the Buildings Regulations 2002 became law they were one of the first companies to go for the lowest possible U values and installed a complete new glass cutting and edge deletion line as well as a brand new production line. Now that the Building Regulations have been update (April 2006) T & I are supplying units with the lowest possible U Value and can certainly claim a centre pane U Value of 1.2.
